Families of children with special needs and the professionals who work with them will get the opportunity to attend the 21st annual Circle of Support Conference in Woodbridge, VA, on November 7, 2015. This all-day conference sponsored by the Arc will feature a keynote speaker, nearly 60 workshops in three sessions, exhibitors and vendors, on-site childcare and much more for a reasonable registration fee.
This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Stephen Shore – AAPC author, professor, and speaker who has Asperger Syndrome. Stephen’s first book, Beyond the Wall: Personal Experiences With Autism and Asperger Syndrome, combines three voices to create a touching and highly informative resource for professionals as well as individuals with ASD. Stephen is also the editor of Ask and Tell: Self-Advocacy and Disclosure for People on the Autism Spectrum, which is written by individuals with ASD. Chapters are designed to help those on the autism spectrum effectively self-advocate as they pursue independent, productive and fulfilling lives.
