What’s That Look on Your Face?
All About Faces and Feelings

This strikingly illustrated book helps young readers link faces to feelings by presenting situations they can relate to. Each page spread is devoted to a feeling depicted through an exaggerated facial expression accompanied by a short poem that further elaborates on the expression to reinforce its meaning. Book jacket unfolds into a poster showcasing each facial expression mentioned in the book. Foreword by Diane Twachtman-Cullen.

Catherine S. Snodgrass is also the author and illustrator of Super Silly Sayings That Are Over Your Head—A Children’s Illustrated Book of Idioms, which was nominated for a Ben Franklin Award. Customer Review: Sylvia Fisher - I use this book frequently to work with children on the autism spectrum and it's one of their favorites. I find the illustrations are quite helpful especially since they're colorfully animated...reading faces becomes easier. The illustrations seem to emphasize the characteristics that make each expression unique. The included poster is also a terrific teaching tool. I totally disagree with the reviewer who thinks that the author should have used photos of real children to depict emotions especially since children on the autism spectrum have incredible difficulty looking at photos of faces and making eye contact. I work daily with these wonderful children and all in all, this book truly has become a valuable reference. Highly recommended!
