MEET THE AUTHOR

Kelly Mahler,
MS, OTR/L, is a pediatric occupational therapist in the Central Pennsylvania region. She specializes in the development of self-regulation and social cognition skills. Additionally, Kelly is co-founder of Destination Friendship which is an organization providing fun, community-based opportunities targeted at developing friendship skills in children, adolescents, and teenagers with ASD. Kelly is author of another book, Destination Friendship: Developing Social Skills for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (with Benton, Hollis & Womer). She has presented at numerous national, state and local conferences. Kelly resides with her family in York, PA.

Customer Review: Stacy - Wow! What a great hands-on approach to teaching life skills to children that have difficulties with them! This book gives fabulous ideas and creative ways to teach everyday social skills to children with Aspergers. It takes situations that are not socially accepted and gives practical ideas on how to teach your Spectrum child what is acceptable. I would stongly recommend this book. It is clear that the author has an understanding for children on the spectrum!
