Customer Review: Charles Smith - This book is very good and it reminds me of what I experienced. I did not know anything about sensory processing disorder in 1976 when I was oversensitive to the Bicentennial July 4 firework explosions. Basically all of the concussions and detonations caused me to melt down by crying, and I felt like Izzy. Now, as I recognized what Izzy had felt, I can feel a connection to what this story can give to anyone interested in learning more about the emotional problems that are triggered by being on the spectrum--that is, autism spectrum disorder. It is a good read!!!

Customer Review: Amazon Customer - Fantastic book for kids with SPD. Also good for families, friends, teachers of kids with sensory issues. This book was demanded repeatedly by the pre-schooler it was bought for!

Customer Review: K. Faoro - This book is very useful. The first time we read it my son said "that's just like me!" during the part about loud noises. Other parts don't apply to him but SPD is so unique to each individual it's impossible to find a book that's just right. I just omit certain pages and change some wording. It's been helpful in starting discussions with him about his issues.

Customer Review: Shannon A. - My son has sensory processing disorder (one part of his autism) and often wonders why things affect him that don't affect others. This was a nice way to introduce him to one way he is different and special. Thank you for making a story like this.
