A Cookbook for Non-Readers

Everyone can cook! Visual Recipes: A Cookbook for Non-Readers is a unique cookbook written for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disorders that fosters independence and confidence for anyone in the kitchen. The book features thirty-five recipes grouped into the following categories: breakfast, lunch, side dishes, snacks, desserts, and drinks. The recipes consist of picture-based directions with clear photographs, which include all of the details that a person with autism or a non-reader needs to be successful in the kitchen, are easy to understand, and each step is framed for visual clarity. Simple text directions also accompany each step, and the importance of safety is highlighted.

Customer Review: Tracy - I like the way this book is put together and my clients that are just learning their way around a kitchen will definitely benefit from this. Only thing I would like to see would be follow up books with a wider range of recipes.
