Students With Asperger Syndrome: A Guide for College Personnel

For many students with autism spectrum disorders, getting admitted to college is the easy part. Surviving and succeeding can be quite another, as these students transition into a system that is often unprepared to receive them. Accommodating students whose disabilities very likely fall in social and self-regulatory areas is a particular challenge for disability services providers who are not used to reaching out into so many areas of student life. This comprehensive book offers disability services professionals practical strategies for accommodating and supporting students in all phases of college life and beyond. Customer Review: Amazon Customer - Asperger's is a unique condition in that it's not necessarily an impairment. "Students with Asperger Syndrome: A Guide for College Personnel" discusses Asperger syndrome and how college-level educators and administrators should deal with students affected with the condition and how these students are different from the others. Defining Asperger's and how it will affect the many different avenues of campus life, "Students with Asperger Syndrome" is a strong and highly recommended pick for these teachers who may not be familiar with Asperger's.

Customer Review: Paul JM. - This topic is only going to continue to become more and more prevalent in Higher Education. This is the only book I have found that dresses topics specifically for College personnel.
