A Guide to Help Teenage Males With Asperger Syndrome Trouble-Shoot Life’s Challenges
Being a teenager is an experience simultaneously shared by teens and their parents. In Asperger Download: A Guide to Help Teenage Males with Asperger Syndrome Trouble-Shoot Life’s Challenges, Damian Santomauro and his mother, Josie, share the hidden curriculum of being a male teenager – unwritten social rules are spelled out. Damian was diagnosed with ASD at the age of 5. Now as a college graduate with a PhD, he shares his experiences with teens who are experiencing what he lived through. Appropriate for teenage males ages 11-16.

Josie Santomauro lives in Brisbane, Australia, where she is a full-time writer. Her son, Damian, was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome at the age of five; he now has a PhD in Philosophy and is a researcher in the field of autism. Josie is published in over 25 resources on ASD (one in Italian) including, the award-winning, Friendly Facts; Pirates; and Space Travelers. She regularly presents seminars and workshops on ASD, and in 2009 was awarded the Parent/Carer Award Autism Queensland Australia in recognition of her outstanding achievements. In 2013 she received a certificate of recognition as a community mentor from the Naturally Autistic People Awards, BC, Canada. Josie offers consultations with parents, educators, and caregivers. She also volunteers as a peer supporter to fellow members of her state emergency services.

Customer review: Amazon Customer - I think this is a good tool for my teen to better understand how he is wired. His short circuit is now under construction.

Customer Review: M. Kenny - I like the book because it gives my 13 year old son who is on the autistic spectrum helpful information about being a teenager. I like that the boy's paragraph's are written in his own words. I wish the mother's part was a little more specific on some topics. For the most part, it is a nice guide for him to refer.

Customer Review: Debra Peters - I read this book before sending it to my teenage grandson....I found it easy to read and understand but the best of all is that my grandson has READ IT and it is helping him to make sense of his autism!.
