This long-awaited DVD brings the viewer into a frank dialogue between two individuals whose lives have been deeply impacted by autism spectrum disorders. Stephen Shore, an individual on the spectrum who is also a professional in the field of ASD, and Robert Naseef, a psychologist who works primarily with families of children with disabilities and the father of a son with autism, discuss the human costs and benefits of ASD. In doing so, they cover topics such as sensory issues, social skills, anxiety, being "different," family grief and anguish, siblings, empathy/compassion, as well as the cultural implications of ASD. Daniel Gottlieb, a psychologist, writer and speaker on disabilities who has a grandson on the spectrum, moderates the conversation. This DVD gives a human touch to an often misunderstood disorder.
