Christine Reeve, Ph.D., BCBA-D
Inspired by one sister with autism and another sister who teaches children with special needs including autism, Christine has more than 20 years of professional experience in working with children, families, and schools focused on autism. Christine earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at SUNY at Stony Brook. She has worked in a variety of settings including community outreach, academia, education, and clinic settings serving individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Christine worked for 13 years at Nova Southeastern University’s Mailman Segal Institute in a variety of roles including as the Director of the Therapeutic Intervention Program for children with significant behavioral issues and autism and as a consultant for the Autism Consortium providing consultation and training to school systems across the country addressing the needs of students with ASD. When moving to Florida, Christine also became a certified behavior analyst and is now a BCBA-D—a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral Level. Christine currently owns and directs a thriving school consultation practice providing professional development and consultation to school systems concerning students with autism, low incidence disabilities, and challenging behavior. She also has a series of books published by LinguiSystems Publishers for teaching expressive and receptive functional vocabulary to children using real pictures in stories about everyday materials (Functional Vocabulary for Children) and co-authored similar books for adolescents and adults (Functional Vocabulary for Daily Living Skills-Adolescents; Functional Vocabulary for Daily Living Skills-Adults). She is also the co-author of Setting Up Classroom Environments That Support Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Christine also serves as adjunct faculty and a dissertation advisor for Nova Southeastern University and maintains a blog regarding school-related information about autism spectrum disorders at http://reeveautismconsulting.blogspot.com/.
